Burnside Croft

is nestled into the hills of Navidale, near Helmsdale, in the Highlands of Scotland.

Around 120 years old, Burnside has just under 10 acres of crofting land. Over the years it has become overgrown with gorse which needs attention. We aim to do this by keeping a small supply of livestock, planting native trees, and giving nature a gentle hand to find her balance.

Our livestock is expanding all the time and we have the wildlife, such as the wild deer, that venture onto our land. Here you will be able to follow our blog as we renovate the house, get the land back to balance, and build up our livestock. We’ll be sharing images, ideas, and information to help others.
